The Worcester Orchard Workers (WOW) is a local volunteer group, also under Transition Worcester and based at the Community Garden, that helps manage, restore and protect traditional community orchards in and around Worcester, such as Aconbury Orchard, Trotshill and our own orchard.
The group’s activities include:
- Orchard care: pruning, grafting, planting and general site maintenance.
- Community events: hosting apple-picking, community harvesting and seasonal apple-pressing days where locals can bring surplus fruit to make juice.
- Education: offering practical training courses on fruit tree care and wildlife conservation.

Every autumn, a number of apple pressing events are organised around the city, to which people can bring their own fruit harvests for pressing and bottling.
