Following the success of last year’s event, the Community Gardens once again hosted this years Plant Swap with Transition Worcester, supported by our mini Eco-Fair.
Featuring stalls from the Worcester Environmental Group, Pack It In, and the Wildlife Trust, over 400 visitors (and many friendly dogs) came to the site and got to enjoy all the activities on offer. One of which was the Craftivism workshop that took place in the craft polytunnel. With plenty of cakes and warm drinks on offer, people were able to exchange ideas and catch up while sharing their love of crafting.
Other activities of the day included wood whittling taster sessions, gardening advice from our Head Gardener, tours around the gardens, and lots of socialising.
The event was blessed with some much needed sunshine following a rather chilly start to the Spring, with many attendees at the Plant Fair commenting at how small everyone’s plants were. The money raised will be invested back into the continued running and maintenance of the site.
Thank you to the visitors who came to support us, and all the volunteers to which we could not have run this without! Bonus thank you to Cheese the special site Robin, for making sure that we set up properly the day before.
