Wildlife Garden officially open

We were delighted to welcome our mayor, Tor Pingree, who came to open the new Wildlife Garden on 2nd July. On a perfect summer morning, we were also joined by Julie Grainger from Worcestershire Wildlife Trust, Richard and Martin from Worcester Lions Club, some of the students from Mencap who had helped in the garden, and some of our own volunteers to celebrate the completion of this wonderful resource for both wildlife and people.

Jon Bodenham, our Trustee and Project Lead for the Wildlife Garden, gave a lovely speech of thanks to everyone who had helped either financially or via donations of their time, plants or expertise.

After a short speech of her own, the mayor then untied the hand-made rope across the entrance to signal the official opening of the garden.

In time-honoured fashion, this was followed by group photos, tea, coffee and delicious home-made cake, also provided by Jon.

We are so pleased to have completed this fantastic addition to the Community Garden, and hope it will continue to be enjoyed by visitors on two legs, four or more!
