This month in the garden

June 2026

Here’s our current list of volunteer tasks.

If you’d like to get involved, please visit the Volunteering page.

Our new Veg Shed is up and running, quite a step up from our old kiosk which has served us well. It’s made it much easier to store and display preserves, produce and much more, and is also a more comfortable space for our volunteers – do come and take a look!

The new structure, as well as being a delight to look at, has some ingenious features thanks to our construction team – here, Mike and Hanspeter are working on a winch system for raising and lowering the canopy area.

Work has continued to replace the raised beds damaged by a fallen tree earlier in the year. Tony and Mike are hard at work again!

Our volunteers from Sanctuary Housing made great progress in the new Flood Garden, enlarging the bog area ready for the liner to go in.

Our heritage seed vegetables are doing really well! Tabatha from Sanctuary Housing had the honour of picking the first cucumber (741 Peking China) and the peppers are coming along nicely too!
