Our final public workshop of the year took place in October. Eight enthusiastic participants came to the garden to learn how to make their own dried flower wreaths, ably assisted by garden volunteer Eileen. To find out more and see their stunning creations, click here.
We also ran a workshop for our volunteers in which Sharon demonstrated the art of sowing sweet pea seeds. The sown seeds are now safely tucked up in their pots, ready to get an early start ahead of planting out strong young plants next spring.

Sorting and washing pots, ready for storage over the winter, is an important October job.
Stu and Sandra made a great start on this.
Plenty of warm and sunny weather in the first week of October has helped the garden to continue to be productive and beautiful. Here’s some of our produce on sale.

There are still loads of flowers in the garden too – here’s a selection.

One of the first jobs of the month was to complete the painting of the signpost/flood marker – the blue-to-green point marks the highest flood point to date!
Great to see the wonderful flowers around it too, still going strong in early October.

One of our volunteer teams worked very hard to clear an area of land that will become our new urban wildlife garden – very exciting, look out for more updates on this!
